2017 Aluminum sheet belongs to the Al-Cu-Mg series, which is a typical aluminum alloy, has a large market. High strength and great resistance of heat is the characteristics of 2017 aluminum, if the temperature is over 125°C, the 2017 alloy can have a higher strength than 7075 alloy.

2017 Aluminum sheet heat treatment
The 2017 alloy can be solutioo annealed at 940 F for three or four hours followed by water quench. Age hardening then occurs at room temperature and this produces the T4 temper. The "O" temper results from a 775 F treatment for three hours, controlled cooling at 50 F per hour down to 500 F, then air cool.
